Welte Family History Research

My photo
For over 40 years, I have been researching my family history. Now that I'm retired, I can devote more time and effort into more research, compilation, and organization of that work! Over the past 12 years, I have been very fortunate in teaching genealogy classes, along with my computer experience, at Blackhawk Technical College. I've also created a business - "Field of Genes" - a "Ride-N-Seek" experience to help other families find their own ancestors.

He Could Dance!

He Could Dance!

(Verse 1)

I asked my mother why she chose my dad

She said it was simple...'cause he was the man

She loved with her heart… and that someday...he’d give her a chance

When he was young, he went off to war

And then he returned… but she wanted more

He stole her heart…in that moment…he asked her to dance

(Chorus)

He then took her hand… when the band played their song

The dance floor was waiting…it wouldn’t be long

Before he would hold her and sweep her right into romance

Here was her moment...she’d always dreamed of

He was the only… man she would love

She knew the reason… she loved him…he could dance

(Verse 2)

He brought her roses…along with his smile

And then they would laugh… and after a while

He looked in her eyes… and she knew… when he gave her that glance

She knew he was there for a reason and then

They started to smile…all over again

That feeling was there…in that moment…he asked her to dance

(Chorus)

He then took her hand… when the band played their song

The dance floor was waiting…it wouldn’t be long

Before he would hold her and sweep her right into romance

Here was her moment...she’d always dreamed of

He was the only… man she would love

She knew the reason… she loved him…he could dance
